Tomorrow at 7:19AM the new moon for November occurs. I’ve been writing about the new moons for a while now. There is a lot of input you can find on the internet about each new moon and setting new moon intentions. I even wrote a post about setting new moon intentions. Usually when I read articles about the new moon I feel I’m reading the same thing every month: “now is the time to let the past go,” or something else along those lines that promises a huge shift. Over. And over. Maybe I, maybe you, aren’t holding on to the past. Maybe we won’t feel a big shift. And that’s ok. Ok, so if the articles don’t seem to apply, then what?

It’s pretty simple.

November’s new moon is in Sagittarius. Sagittarius rules higher education, searching for truth, the natural world, optimism, travel, law, and freedom. So if you have intentions around these issues there’s some extra oomph. If not, you’re still packing, magickally speaking. I’ve brought abundance during a waning moon- sometimes that’s just the timing and need of things. The universe isn’t as rigid as our beliefs tend to be.

The most important thing to remember when setting intentions is to set the ones that feel right. Trust yourself. Also, handwrite them.

I like the visualization technique where I consider my intentions to be seeds and I visualize myself planting them in the ground. I don’t really consider setting intentions to be much different than any other ritual. It’s highly personal and the effectiveness depends on whether or not you believe you can have what you’re setting intentions for and whether or not you can let go and not obsess.

I struggle with both of those at any given time. Believe anyway. And busy yourself with day to day tasks while remaining open to opportunities in order to avoid obsessing about whether or not it’s coming. The timing is out of your control. Just live your life.

Blessings to you.

  1. We found your article very interesting and my Mr Midnight loved the photo of your black cat – well he would wouldn´t he because Mr Midnight is a black cat himself.
Sir Winston, the other protagonist from our blog “Gilmours Nice Place”, was also quite impressed with your little pussycat.
Cats are such vain creatures aren´t they.
Meow, purr purr and kind regards from the three of us and thanks for posting. 🙂

    1. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Your cats may find my other cat interesting as well. She wasn’t interested in being part of the photograph that went with this article. She doesn’t like to share the limelight. 😉

      1. I only take them when she looks at the camera 🙂 I’ve learned all her cues (she’s quite intricate) have also decided that she is, based on stereotypes, British in personality. Faye, my other cat (pictured), is stereotypically, Italian. 🙂 your cats are adorable!

      2. Thank you for your kind words. Mr Midnight asks if Faye likes eating pizza, being an italian superstar and all. I´ve already told him not to be so silly!

Kind regards from the three of us.

      3. And quite true! We don´t want Faye to get too big do we. Mr Midnight also adds that got bad indigestion when he swiped a piece of my pizza so he wouldn´t really recommend it.
